1What is Legend Lamp Shades?
We are a small family business with a retail store located in Huntington, New York where we have the biggest selections of antiques lamps and custom made stock shades in New York.
2What makes Legend Lamp Shades unique?
Our shades are handmade by our in-house artisans, using shantung silk as our fabric of choice. We also make custom shade using your materials and design ideas.
3How do I clean my lamp shade?
Lamp shades do not require much maintenance, although we do recommend vacuuming the shade gently once every three or four months to prevent dust collection and improve the overall lifespan of the shade.
4What wattage light bulbs should I use?
We highly recommend that you use a LED light bulb, as this will not heat up it the lampshade, extending the shade’s lifespan. LED light bulbs are preferred over incandescent light bulbs. We recommend to use incandescent light bulbs of 60W or less as heat build-up can reduce the lifespan of the lamp shade.
5How do I dispose of my old shade?
You can recycle them! The frame of our lamp shades are made from steel.

1How do I know which shade is the correct size for my lamp?
The best way to see if a shade is the correct size is to come to our shop. If you can’t come to our shop, the shade size typically just needs to cover the harp and the light bulb. Make sure to get a harp that is the same height as the height of the shade so that the shade sits just above the neck of your lamp and covers the harp and the bulb.

1Can I bring a broken lamp for repairs?
Yes. When you bring the lamp into our shop, we will diagnose the concern and determine what repairs are needed. We provide quick and quality service.
Legend Lamp Shades Order Questions
1Can I make a change to an existing order?
Once an order has been placed, we cannot make any additions, subtractions, or substitutions to the items in the order. If you no longer want the exact items in your order, please visit your account dashboard to process a cancellation. All orders are held for a 45 minute cancellation window, once this has expired; the order will be processed and shipped with the information provided. If the order has already shipped, we can assist with a return so you may place a new order with the correct items.
2Can I return my product for a refund? How?
Please carefully read over our refund policy. Refunds are only available within the 14 days after the item has arrived at your house. If the cellophane wrapping is taken off the shade, a refund cannot be honored.
3My card has been charged multiple times. What do I do?
Your order attempt may have been declined. Declined transactions can occur when there is a mismatch with the billing information, incorrect payment information or other reasons. Declined transactions may appear on your billing statement as pending transactions. Your bank will remove these pending transactions from your account within a few business days. Because the transactions were declined, they will never be posted or permanently charged to your account. Unfortunately, during that time that the bank is processing the pending transactions, those charges will be deducted from your account balance. These funds are not being held by Legend Lamp Shades and the pending status will be removed only by your bank.
4Why was my card charged if I didn't receive an order confirmation?
If you did not see a confirmation number at the end of the checkout process, an order was not completed. Double check your email (and spam) if you haven't received an order confirmation. A declined transaction may appear as a pending charge for 5-10 business days before it is removed by your bank.

1Can you ship to PO Box addresses?
Unfortunately we do not send our items to a PO Box address at this time.
2What’s the soonest I can get my order?
If the shades are in stock, our standard shipping method is USPS Priority, but we also offer USPS Express 1-Day delivery. We ship Monday through Friday, with all orders placed before 12:00 PM PST shipping same day. Orders placed after 12:00 PM PST will ship the next business day. *Delivery dates are only estimates provided by the carrier and may be affected by weather, national holidays, and some geographic locations. If the shades are custom designed or not in stock, we ask that you give us 24 hours after an order has been placed to give you a rough estimate of when the shade will be ready to ship.
3What type of packaging will my order be delivered in?
Your order will be shipped in standard packaging.
4What do I do if my item was not delivered?
If a package is not delivered, please call your local post office for immediate assistance with your parcel. We also recommend checking in with neighbors, front desk, mailrooms, or anywhere the package may have been delivered. We recommend you file a claim with USPS by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS®. Please note: damaged or missing merchandise must be reported to us within 72 hours of the date of delivery. Failure to do so may result in the claim being denied by the shipping carrier and exclusion from our return/exchange policy. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our policies.
5What if the shipment is damaged?
If possible, please check the condition of your parcel before you sign for it. If it's at all damaged, don't sign for it and hand it back to the courier to return to us. If you only discover that your parcel is damaged after it is delivered, please contact us through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note: damaged or missing merchandise must be reported to us within 72 hours of the date of delivery. Failure to do so may result in the claim being denied by the shipping carrier and exclusion from our return/exchange policy. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our policies.
6How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a link to your tracking number. Your tracking information is also available in the Order History section of your account. Please wait 24 business hours before receiving your tracking details. Please note: your order confirmation email is sent immediately after your purchase, this is separate from your shipping confirmation email.
7What if I have items missing from my order?
If you discover that your order has missing items after it has been delivered, please contact Legend Lamp Shades as soon as possible. Sometimes, orders may ship in separate packages. If you have not received all of your items within 3 business days, please let us know. However, we also recommend confirming what you ordered on your account dashboard. Please note: damaged or missing merchandise must be reported to us within 72 hours of the date of delivery.
Manufacturing and Quality
1Where are the shades made?
We design and make our shades in the back of our store in Huntington, NY. ALL shades are handmade from our experienced team who have been with us for over 10 years.
2How are the shades made?
The unique designs and shapes of the shades are from the steel frames we use. The shantung silk we use is then stitched onto the frame. We use two layers of silk, the interior of the shade is pure white to ensure that the light produced from the bulb is not absorbed by the fabric but so that it is reflected to give the exterior fabric it’s glow. The exterior of the shade is made from the same silk fabric but made with many optionable different colors to match your lamps.
